The Children of Dashrath

A Crown of Five Stars
In Ayodhya’s halls of sacred flame,
Five children bore the Raghu name,
Each one a light, a dharmic spark,
That shaped the world through deeds so stark.

Shanta, first, with grace serene,
A princess wise, yet rarely seen,
She wed a sage, her path withdrawn,
Yet through her, sacred rites were born.

Ram, born of Kaushalya’s prayer,
A soul of truth, divinely fair,
He bore the weight of right and wrong,
And walked the woods with heart so strong.

Lakshman, fierce with loyal fire,
Sumitra’s son, with boundless ire,
He stood by Ram, sword in hand,
A shadow true in every land.

Bharat, Kaikeyi’s noble seed,
Who ruled with love, not selfish greed,
He placed his brother’s sandals high,
And served the throne with lowered eye.

Shatrughan, quiet, brave, and wise,
With Lakshman shared his mother’s ties,
He fought for peace, though far from fame,
A silent flame in dharma’s name.

Five stars that lit the royal dome,
Each bound by love, by land, by home,
And through their lives, the world could see,
The face of truth, of loyalty.
